At the age of 16, certified as an instructor and lifeguard for a year, Mathilde observed a major problem in swimming lessons offered at public pools: spots are limited while drowning is a real scourge among young children, the service offering is very generic meaning fearful children or those with specific needs are not adequately served, and the large number of swimmers per group means children spend long periods standing still at the wall, affecting their rate of progress.
From her very first summer of activity, when Mathilde was on her own, she noticed enormous progress in her swimmers, far beyond what she had seen in public pools. Driven by her motivation and desire to serve as many families as possible, she reduced her salaried work hours until she devoted herself entirely to her business. Mathilde didn't hesitate to hire her sister to meet growing demand when necessary, and today has 3 instructor-lifeguards and 1 lifeguard on her team, all certified and experienced. Each of them strives to offer the best to their swimmers in the comfort of their own home using a personalized approach adapted to each one. With five years of experience, AquaStars stands out by offering longer swimming lessons for the whole family and teaching babies unique aquatic survival techniques in Quebec.
Despite the importance of knowing how to swim, AquaStars never neglects the fun in the water for its students, because it is essential to the founder that your children look forward to their lessons and develop a positive feeling about swimming. That's why our imaginative instructors create different fun themes each week.
THE FOUNDER
The portrait of Mathilde

Mathilde, founder of AquaStars, embodies determination and passion for teaching swimming at home. At just 17, with her scooter, she responded to an isolated request from families, thus beginning an exceptional journey. It was word of mouth that allowed her business to grow rapidly.
I realized I excel at my work as an instructor by seeing the enormous progress of my students and the satisfaction of my clients. This brought me great joy and so I wanted to continue to thrive in this field. I also loved the freedom that this work gave me since I had no supervisor. So I just followed the current of life and was fortunate that my business was successful. Above all, I am very happy to be able to help families enjoy their aquatic activities thanks to the work of my team of water safety instructors.
